I have been described professionally as dynamic, tenacious, resilient, insightful and courageous. Others have described me as intelligent, resourceful, diligent, accomplished and deeply committed to the work I do.

Those closest to me describe something different—compassionate, loyal, brave, adventurous, warm, genuine, dependable, persistent and yes, unapologetically feisty.

I describe myself as a lifelong learner. I am practical, sociable, curious, and deeply committed to understanding the complexities of human behaviour, systems, and the ways harm can occur when power goes unchecked. And I will admit—when I see wrongdoing that harms others, the feisty side of me shows up very quickly.

My life has taken many unexpected turns, and I often say I have lived many lifetimes within one. Those experiences—both personal and professional—have shaped my perspective and fuelled the work I now do.

Today, my projects reflect not only my expertise in complex and confronting subject matters, but also my belief that silence, denial and complacency allow harm to continue. My purpose is to challenge those systems, share knowledge, and help create environments where safety, accountability and dignity are not optional—they are expected.

I believe resilience is not just about surviving adversity. It is about transforming experience into insight, courage into action, and knowledge into change.

And somewhere amongst all of that serious work, I still love a good triathlon.

My work is guided by what I call the  4T Framework:

Trauma → Truth → Teaching → Transformation

This approach begins by acknowledging the reality and impact of trauma. From there, we work towards truth—understanding the dynamics of harm, power and systems that often go unspoken.

Truth then becomes teaching, turning lived experience and professional knowledge into practical insight that helps others recognise risks, strengthen boundaries and prevent further harm.

The ultimate goal is transformation: helping people and organisations create safer, stronger and more accountable environments.

Because when trauma is turned into truth, it can become a powerful force for transformation.

"He is Not your Project" -

A project focusing on helpinlawyersg women to understand that their role in a relationship is not to 'fix' a broken man.  This is often the trap that leads women into toxic and dangerous relationships. When women can understand this toxic dynamic and what role they play in the dynamic, the chances of them leaving a relationship before serious harm occurs is high.  I am hoping for this to become a global project.

"Not My Shame to Bear"

Based on true stories of men and women, a book confronting the reality that in 2025 women and men are still expected to remain silent about their domestic violence experiences and sexual assaults. It challenges societal ideals where victims are made to feel ashamed of what they experienced whilst abusers bear no shame and often, family members, work colleagues, lawyers and  friends  of the abuser will do anything to cover up and protect an abuser.  This book is completed however it will not be released until April 2026.

            "Not just another C**T"

This book is being written in response to the last words a perpetrator in my life spoke to me showing me his true attitude which is indicitive of how many men view women.  I was told that, "I had served my purpose and was just aother c**t". It will showcase my resilience and strength of surival and the courage it took to rise above being a victim and reclaim my life, and the goals I have achieved since those words were spoken to me.  This book will be released after all court cases that involve that perpetrator are completed.

             "The Shame Files"

This is a collaborative effort with a group of journalists, advocates and other professionals where lawyers who enable and help abusers as well as workplaces who engage in misogynistic behaviours WILL BE EXPOSED.  Lawyers must rethink their role in justice.
Too often, survivors are re-traumatised because lawyers choose to represent abusers without questioning the ethics behind their tactics. The law is not a game of winning at all costs—it carries a moral duty. Lawyers should reflect on the consequences of enabling coercive control, false claims, and abusive litigation. Justice is not served when legal skills are used to silence, intimidate, or protect abusers. True professionalism means upholding both the law and humanity.  TRUTH is not defamation.

Tracy Anne Sedman is an educator, author and prevention advocate who is not afraid to challenge uncomfortable truths. Known for her tenacity, insight and courage, she works at the intersection of lived experience, education and systems reform.

Through her work, Tracy speaks openly about the realities of coercive control, psychological harm and the cultural conditions that allow abuse to thrive. Rather than focusing only on compliance, she advocates for genuine accountability and cultural change.

As the founder of Sexual Safety Australia, Tracy is committed to turning knowledge into action—helping organisations, communities and individuals recognise risk earlier and respond with integrity.

Her work is grounded in one core belief: resilience is not just about surviving adversity. It is about transforming experience into insight, courage into action, and truth into change.

And when she is not challenging systems or writing her next chapter, you will probably find her training for a triathlon.

Domestic violence affects people of all genders, ages, and backgrounds—and so must our response. While women remain at greater risk and deserve continued protection and support, men can also be victims and often face unique stigma and barriers when seeking help. My advocacy aims to create inclusive, supportive spaces where all survivors—women, men, and children—are heard, respected, and empowered.

We must involve men not only as victims but also as part of the solution—supporting one another, challenging harmful behaviours, and promoting respectful relationships. Domestic violence also intersects with culture, requiring tailored, culturally sensitive support for migrant, refugee, and Indigenous communities.

Through education, support services, and policy advocacy, I work to ensure that no one is left behind. Ending domestic violence takes all of us. Let’s include everyone in the conversation—because safety is a right, not a privilege.
